Optical waveguide Cables and Wires
Fibre optic cables are always used when high data rates cannot be transmitted using conventional electrical systems. In addition, fibre optic cables are used wherever electrical cables cannot be implemented, e.g. due to the risk of explosion, or where high EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) requirements need to be fulfilled.
POF optical fibres or polymer optical fibre cables are characterised by the following features:
- insensitive against electromagnetic interferences
- flexible
- high abrasion resistance
- good reversed bending strength
